Succoth Church Vision
SUCCOTH, commonly translated as Feast of Tabernacles or Feast of the Ingathering, literally Feast of Booths, is a picture / shadow of the future kingdom when Jesus shall reign. Zechariah 14:9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
The Greatest Joy is yet to come:
The Feast of Tabernacles reminds us of a time of great rejoicing. It will be a time when you and I will enter into the glory of the LORD, when His Kingdom is established.
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
So Prepare your minds for action – Set your hope firm:
1 Pet 1:13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
So, let's not fix our hearts on the joys of this world because they will not last and let's not get discouraged because we are going through some difficulty; it will not last either.
The final RESTORATION of all things:
Acts 3:19-21 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you. whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.
John the Baptist in the Spirit & Power Like that of Elijah pointed people to the Christ:
Matt 17:11-13 He answered, “Elijah does come, and he will restore all things. But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased. So also the Son of Man will certainly suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them of John the Baptist.
Mal 4:6 and Luke 1:16-17 And he will go on before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn (NASB - Restore) the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Making Ready a people prepared for the Lord. – Ministry of Reconciliation
You and I – believers in Christ have been endued by the same Spirit & Power (Acts 1:5-8) to prepare (disciple) people for Christ.
2 Cor 5:18-19 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
We believe the Lord is building this local Church group with those who need to be restored to their right relationship with God and in turn rebuild strong relationships with one another.
Only when we learn to JOIN GOD IN THE MISSION TO RESTORE ALL THINGS, we find a common “adversary,” the pervasive brokenness all around us.
Having a common enemy, a common mission, a shared purpose, brings us together. It UNITES US!!
Succoth is a Vision for Restoration (of all things)
Return (Repentance) - Revive (Reconciliation / Refreshing) – Restore (Restoration)
