Welcome to The Great Jungle Journey!

It’s a jungle out there and we’re headed right for it!

Grab your binoculars, lather on your sunscreen, and secure your life preserver! The Great Jungle Journey is about to begin! We are off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation.

Every day, our kids are bombarded with questions: Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible?

  Register Here for VBS

At this VBS, your kids will explore the biblical answers to these questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call. These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life.

Day 1: Creation—We cruise to our first C of history, back to the beginning of the universe. God created all things in six days by speaking. Because he is good, whatever he does is good. His creation was “very good.” This didn’t happen as a result of a “big bang” but instead was the special, intentional creation by God about 6,000 years ago.

Day 2: Corruption and Catastrophe—At our next stops, we learn how Adam disobeyed God’s command (sinned) and brought death, disease, and suffering into the once-perfect world. Adam and Eve’s children and grandchildren (and so) were each born a sinner and chose to disobey God, too. Their wickedness increased until God judged the sin of mankind with a worldwide flood, mercifully saving only Noah, his family, and land animal representatives on the ark. Many of the rock and fossil layers found around the world resulted from the flood about 4,300 years ago.

Day 3: Confusion—After Noah and his family came off the ark, God told them to spread out and fill the earth. Sadly, they disobeyed and stayed together. They began to build a tall tower to worship the heavens (instead of God). God confused their language and brought a multiplicity of languages. The various family groups could no longer understand each other and began to move apart to different areas of the world. This was the beginning of the different tribes and ethnic groups around today. But we are all one race—the human race, descendants of Adam and Eve.

Day 4: Christ and Cross—The sin Adam brought into the world separated him from his holy Creator. Sin continues to separate us from God and the punishment for sin is death. When we die, we will be separated from God’s goodness forever. Out of his great love, God sent his Son Jesus to earth to live a perfect life. He was put to death on the cross—not for his sins (he is sinless)—but for our sins. His death paid the penalty for sin. He rose on the third day, showing that God accepted his sacrifice. All who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus receive the gift of eternal life with God forever!

Day 5: Consummation—God promises that there will one day be a new heaven and earth where there will be no more crying or sorrow or pain—the curse will be no more and those who have the gift of eternal life will enjoy God and his goodness forever!

Daily Overview

Excitement and adventure await from the first minute of each day when kids meet in travel groups. The groups gather at the Jungle Jam Assembly, a high-energy beginning that includes wacky intros, lively songs, a missions moment, and prayer.

Then they’re off to rotate through five fun sites:

Rain or Shine Bible Time, where God’s Word is taught in creative, hands-on ways.

Tree-mendous Science and Crafts, where kids make jazzy jungle crafts and explore God’s amazing world with science experiments.

Canopy Cafe Snacks, where travelers go bananas munching on tropical treats and eats.

Rainforest Recreation, where kids rumble in the jungle with some wet and wild games.

Travelers’ Missions, Music, and Memory Verses, where kids sing songs, learn their memory verses with fun games, or go in-depth with the mission moment featuring Children’s Hunger Fund.

Finally, everyone heads back to the Jungle Jam Assembly for the closing, where there’s more singing, contest results, and the highly anticipated daily drama. This follows a jungle river cruise that plans to make stops at different ports of call, but faces a catastrophe that affects the plan, resulting in lots of unexpected rainforest adventures.

Prepare to swing into the fun as we head out on our jungle river cruise. See you in the rainforest!
